Handcrafted in Cordoba, South of Spain.
Piece inspired by the mythological character of Hermaphrodite, son of Aphrodite and Hermes. The myth narrates how the nymph Salmacis, as she saw the young man swimming naked in the river, felt so attracted to him that she embraced him and pulled him down to the bottom of the river.
There, she begged the gods to grant her the wish of never being apart from him. The gods heard her request and united both bodies into one.
Since then, each person who touches the river’s water becomes instantly a new being with two sexes.
The piece Aphrodite’s Son is conceived to be worn as earring or as brooch.
